Kevin Johnson is beginning his runoff campaign to be Sacramento's mayor with a kick-off fund-raiser later this month.
Johnson, a former NBA star and Sacramento native, will have a $75 per-person event on July 22 at the Sacramento home of a supporter.
A private reception at the event is $1,150.
A campaign official said Johnson will ramp up campaign activities related to volunteers and events toward the end of the month, but that fund-raising has been an ongoing effort.
Johnson will run against incumbent Mayor Heather Fargo, after neither candidate received enough votes for a majority in the June 3 primary election.
Fargo's Web site does not list any upcoming campaign events.
