Clark to campaign with Charlie Brown

Retired Gen. Wesley Clark will campaign with congressional candidate Charlie Brown Thursday in Roseville and assist in Brown's program to benefit veterans who need help.

Clark, who ran for president in 2004, will make a $30,000 presentation of new donations to Brown's "Promises Kept Veterans Charity Challenge" campaign, which donates 5 percent of his campaign donations to nonprofit community-based groups that help veterans and their families.

"It's important to call attention to the challenges war fighters and their families face when they come home," said Brown, a Roseville Democrat and retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel who is seeking to represent the 4th Congressional District and made the remarks in a statement.

"However, if history has taught us anything, it's that we can't let the conversation end there, and too often it does," Brown said in the statement.

Brown and Clark will also work together on Friday and organize volunteers to create care packages for U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Brown's son has served four tours of duty in Iraq.

The 4th district seat is being contested by Brown and state Sen. Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks). Both men seek to replace retiring U.S. Rep. John Doolittle (R-Roseville).

Chicken Hawks

Yes we know Tom McClintock talks a patriotic game but it's all talk.

Never spent a day in the uniform of his country ..... to busy ripping off the taxpayers of California with his per diem scam.

What a poser.

Gen.Wesley K. Clark ret. SACEUR (NATO) bled for your rights.

What the heck is going on here? keyboard commandos getting mad at Charlie Brown because he's bringing a War Hero another Veteran like him? and a General officer at that? Oh I get it it's Gen.Wesley K. Clark the former SACEUR of NATO. The guy responsible for deposing a despot and was unafraid to challenge the Russians.

Man this is too funny, it seems that for the right wings a democratic veteran does not hold any water for them, especially the likes of Gen.Clark, who could hardly gives a shit of what these toadies think of him. The man served this nation willingly and bled for this country. He did not get captured and tortured is that the man's fault?

Only retarded people of the right wing groupies think that Gen.Clak's comment was below the belt. Like Sen.Mccain and Gen.Clark I also served in the Armed Forces, and like Gen.Clark I am a ground pounder. Did tours in Bosnia then to Kosovo, two tours in Iraq and 1 tour in Aghanistan.

I am a democrat and a proud one at that. I have served under Gen.Clark, and he is by far one of the smartest and courageous General officer I have served under. The operation in Kosovo and all of it's objectives were met unlike the current debacle in Iraq. Thank God for Gen.Patraeus, the situation have ebbed a little bit, and the progress is being made.

I just find these posters laughable, Sen.Mccain served honorably and courageously so did Gen.Clark. But by no means Gen.Clark dishonored Sen.Mccain's record and service. As Sen.Fred Thompson himself said the other night that being a P.O.W. does not by in itself a qualification for the Presidency.

Anyone who has served in the

Anyone who has served in the military regardless of party affiliation is a hero. They've put their lives on the line for OUR freedom. Republicans & Democrats need to get this through their heads.

McClintock will stand on his military record.

Oh ya I forgot ..... another chicken hawk conservative Republican.

Probably had something else to do then to serve the country in uniform.

Patriotic talking tough.

Wesley Clark made that

Wesley Clark made that despicable comment, and now Charlie brown thinks he is going to help him get votes from the 4th District? He’s out of his mind. This also just goes to show voters Charlie Brown’s lack of respect for our men and women in uniform. I know he is a retired Air Force Col., but he should not be condoning Wesley Clarke’s rude comments and campaigning with someone who can’t even pay tribute to POW’s. This is a disgrace, and voters will not support Charlie on Nov. 4 because of standing with people like Clark and Cindy Sheehan.

"Qualification to be president"

Fred Thompson yesterday at the RNC repeated almost verbatim General Clark's comment about the qualification to be president. I don't see anyone in the Right making a big deal about it this time. The General told the truth and they know it.

Clark's Gaffes About McCain Could Hurt Charlie Brown

So Charlie Brown is relying on Gen. Clark to help him? DC rumors are Clark retired from military service because he was forced out due to his contentious relationship with some in Washington D.C.

What will Brown say about Clark's gaffe about McCain's military experience? Clark said "Well, I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president.”

After Clark made the comments, both the McCain and Obama campaigns subsequently released statements rejecting Clark's comment. Clark is also quoted as saying he has serious concerns about McCain's judgment in matters of national security policy, calling McCain "untested and untried." Like Obama isn't it? and what is Brown's experience for Congress? Oh yeah, both candidates have campaigned for the offices they seek!

Clark is also connected to several prominent liberal groups such as MoveOn.org which should ignite the storm over Brown's attendance at an antiwar rally where a soldier was hanged in effigy.
