Durston and Lungren in dead heat, according to Durston campaign poll
By Ben van der Meer, PolitickerCA.com Senior ReporterThe campaign for congressional contender Bill Durston released a poll Tuesday that showed him in a statistical deadheat with incumbent U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Gold River).
Durston, a doctor and Democrat from Gold River, had 30 percent to 33 percent for Lungren in the poll of 500 likely voters in California's 3rd Congressional District. Another 30 percent was undecided, and 7 percent was supporting a third-party candidate.
The canvassing was done by the polling firm Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, and Associates, and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
According to a release from Durston's campaign, reading a positive profile of Lungren and Durston put the race at 39-38 Lungren, and telling those polled about campaign contributions Lungren has received from oil companies and banks gave Durston a 43-34 advantage.
The release did not give a breakdown of voter backgrounds in the poll. Registration in the district favors Republicans by about 3.5 percentage points. Lungren defeated Durston in 2006.

We need everyone to get on board with the Durston Campaign now that the polling data shows this will be a winnable race.Please help out with one of the most Progressuce Candidates in the country. Lungren, his opponent, is your typical Republican career politician: Carpetbagger, Draft Dodger, Big Oil and Big Pharma ally, former lobbyist, votes with Bush 95% of the time, tells that he believes in every major policy decision of his buddy Dick Cheney, supports torture!!..you name it Lungren is the antithesis of what a Progressive Representative should look like.
Perhaps the Democratic Party, which has given ZERO to the Durston Campaign , will pay attention, and see that we will have some new Democratic Congressional Representatives from the West Coast come November 4th.
