McClintock endorsed by three different groups

State Sen. Tom McClintock received endorsements over the weekend from three different groups in his bid to represent the 4th Congressional District.

The Campaign for Working Families, the California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights and the Sacramento Metro Chamber all endorsed McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks), who is competing against Roseville Democrat Charlie Brown.

The Campaign for Working Families, headed by former Republican presidential contender Gary Bauer, supports candidates who work to defend traditional families, keep a strong national defense and maintain free markets.

"Your tireless leadership in support of pro-family, pro-life and pro-free enterprise policies is greatly valued by CWF and all of our members," Bauer said in a press release from McClintock's campaign.

Jim Nielsen, chairman of the California Alliance to Protect Private Property Rights, said in the same release that he hoped McClintock would work in Congress for eminent domain reforms to protect homes, businesses and places of worship.

Nielsen, a former Republican state senator from Sanger, is running for an assembly seat this year in a Northern California district that overlaps a portion of the 4th Congressional District. McClintock is an honorary co-chair of Nielsen's organization.

The chamber endorsed McClintock over his commitment to helping businesses, according to the campaign release.
