And last night: "Debra is re-reading selected provisions of the California Elections Code. (It's more fun than you might think!)"

Diane Fedele: Worst person in the world

Diane Fedele, president of the Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated, sent out a newsletter featuring stereotypes of African Americans and U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's face on a fake welfare check to her membership.

That earned her scorn from across the political spectrum, including the unenviable distinction of being named "Worst Person in the World" by Countdown host Keith Olbermann.

Arnold: No money, no problem.

Gov. Schwarzenegger says public safety is the number one concern and is "not concerned" about finding the money to take care of the fires raging across the state.

The governor tries to revive his emergency response initiative to add a surcharge on homeowners insurance which was rejected by the legislature earlier this year: "Some people got stuck in the ideology...debating over whether this was a fee increase or a tax increase...this is a perfect example that this is a bogus argument and debate, because it doesn't matter what you call it. What we need is the extra $140 million so we can buy the extra engines, the 131 engines and the 10 extra helicopters...because as we have always said, this is a new ball game now...There is no fire season...there's fire season all year round."
