Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl has been embarrassed by one of his district staffers being arrested after allegedly getting drunk and entering the wrong home and being beaten by the homeowner who thought he was a burglar.
The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday that field staffer Len Nguyen was arrested in mid-April after allegedly entering a West Hollywood condominium which he mistakenly thought was his home. The condo’s owner beat the 32-year-old Nguyen badly enough that Nguyen had to be treated over five days at County-USC Medical Center, the Times said.
Nguyen has pleaded not guilty to assault and vandalism charges related to the incident. He was put on probation by the usually affable Rosendahl and must deal with his drinking problem to return to work, according to the Times. The 11th District councilman said in a statement that his staffer, “…has agreed to seek treatment for the disease of alcoholism.”
