Wong was found guilty last summer on 14 felony counts involving his work for Evergreen, a Taiwan-based shipping company that was aiming for a profitable lease at the Port of Los Angeles.
"There's nothing honest about the defendant's relationship with Evergreen," said L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson, according to the Times. "He was engaged in graft and corruption, pure and simple."
Wong served as a city commissioner for over a decade under three different mayors. His attorneys said they will appeal the conviction.
