A committee that will battle to defeat a proposed amendment to the California Constitution requiring doctors to inform parents of teens prior to performing abortions received a $700,000 infusion of cash this week from a San Jose-based affiliate of Planned Parenthood, documents show.
Records filed with the California Secretary of State's office show that the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte affiliate donated $700,000 to the Campaign for Teen Safety, itself a Sacramento-based statewide campaign committee of Planned Parenthood.
"It's critical that teens have safe healthcare options," said Buu Thai, director of public affairs for the Mar Monte affiliate. "This is what our campaign against the initiative will be about. This particular donation will be just the first of several as we get closer to November."
The backers of the November ballot measure called "Sarah's Law - The Child and Teen Safety and Stop Predators Act" are seeking to get the parental notification requirement made a part of the state's constitution.
In 2005, California voters rejected a similar effort at requiring parental notification, known as Prop. 73, by a sound margin.

Bad continues to turn worse...
May God Damn Planned Parenthood, the darling of the abortion industry.
1.7 million babies murdered in this once great country every year. Anyone supporting this organization just might have to face the faces of these children on the other side.
What can our culture of death do but doom us?
