Feds expand probe of Los Angeles city attorney to include wife

LOS ANGELES -- A federal probe that first focused on Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo has now expanded to include his wife, Michelle, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

The Times story shows that the FBI is currently seeking information about Michelle Delgadillo's consulting business and whether or not she paid federal income taxes on revenue from that business.

City Controller Laura Chick told The Times on Tuesday that federal agents and prosecutors met with her two weeks ago to talk about Delgadillo.

Through a spokesman Delgadillo denied any wrongdoing on his part or that of his wife and pledged full cooperation with any investigation. FBI representatives, officially, have neither confirmed nor diened they are conducting an investigation of the Delgadillos.
