SACRAMENTO -- California Insurance Commissioner and Golden State uber Republican Steve Poizner said Friday that he thought the recently concluded Republican National Convention in St. Paul was just boffo.
In an e-mail sent statewide, Poizner, who is likely to run to succeed Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010, said:
"Dear Fellow Californian -
This week I had the opportunity to attend my first Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. It was truly an honor to join the other members of the California Delegation at this historic event in our nation's history.
From Senator McCain's address last night, to Governor Palin's speech the night before, the entire week was truly inspiring. Their stories, and the stories of the many others there were a reminder that dedicating our time to something bigger than ourselves, and to serving our country, whether it is in government, the military, a community organization or in some other way is one of the most rewarding things we can do in life.
I returned to California energized and excited for the future of our party and more importantly of our nation.
Sincerely,
Steve Poizner"

Historic indeed.
For how many Republican were asked not to attend (Where was Congressman Doolittle? Vice President Dick "Shotgun" Cheney?) or just didn't want to be associated with the "Republican Brand Name.".
Putting lipstick on the pit bull.
