A cartoonist's view of the Sacramento mayoral forum

It's a good thing Sacramento Bee editorial cartoonist Rex Babin showed up to the Sacramento mayoral forum last Wednesday. He was able to capture all the fun and akwardness with the tip of his ink pen.

Kevin Johnson by Rex BabinKevin Johnson by Rex BabinNews10, in partnership with the Bee and the California Museum, hosted a forum with the seven candidates vying to become the next mayor of Sacramento last week Wednesday.

The forum included a bit of comedy, including Shawn Eldredge showing up in a Led Zeppelin T-shirt and Richard Jones claiming he had few qualifications to run for office

Babin was there and captured all the fun in this sketchbook page of what he thought of the individual candidates. In it, he says that the body language between Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo and former NBA player Kevin Johnson at times "resembled DaVinci's 'Last Supper.'"

You can view the sketchbook page here, and view a video of the forum here.
