Publisher of conservative FlashReport launches sharp-tongued anti-McNerney blog

Jon Fleischman, one of the Golden State's most popular conservative bloggers, has recently launched a new a blog designed to keep Congressman Jerry McNerney from being reelected to office this fall.

Fleischman, the publisher of the FlashReport, has launched the "One Term is Enough" blog in an effort to help derail the freshman Democrat's reelection effort in the California 11th Congressional District and because the CA-11 contest is arguably the most competitive race in the state.

"I am doing this because I feel, like many others, that Jerry McNerney ran a bogus public agenda as a moderate when in fact his actions in office have shown him to be an extreme liberal," Fleischman told PolitickerCA.com on Monday.

"Feel free to fully take into account who I am and the politics I subscribe to, but the facts are the facts, McNerney is bad on earmarks and he's extreme on the issues," Fleischman added.

To date, One Term is Enough, co-written with Fleischman colleague Brandon Howard, has posted stories carrying such headlines as "Code Pink Hearts McNerney," and "McNerney's Million Dollar Special Interest Earmark."

Fleischman said that while he supports McNerney's opponent in the CA-11 race, Stockton Republican Dean Andal, he is not working for Andal.

State GOP leader hopes for presidential boost

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - California GOP party leader Jon Fleischman said a win by U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in this year's presidential race would help the Republican Party keep control of the state's gubernatorial slot in 2010.

Fleischman, an at-large delegate to the Republican National Convention and an elected vice chairman of the party in Southern California, said he likes what he's seen so far from prospective candidates Meg Whitman and state Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner.
