Steve Schmidt

Jake Suski, who served as Special Assistant to Steve Schmidt, the campaign manager for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 2006 re-election bid, has been named Deputy Communications Director in the Office of the Governor.  Suski served as spokesman for Freedom Watch, a non-profit advocacy firm, as Western Finance Director for John McCain’s presidential campaign, and as a Constituent Affairs Representative in the Governor’s office.  He’ll make $65,000-a-year.

If John McCain does win the presidency, look for California’s Bill Jones to wind up in a prominent role in the new administration, maybe as a member of McCain’s cabinet. Jones is one of McCain’s most loyal supporters here, serving as his state campaign chairman in 2000 and 2008.
