Mendoza to chair Housing and Community Development Committee

Assemblyman Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) will chair the Committee on Housing and Community Development beginning next year, as announced by state Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) this week.

Mendoza, who represents the 56th Assembly District in Southern California, will replace Assemblywoman Lori Saldana (D-San Diego) as chair in the new legislative session.

Assemblyman Tony MendozaFour years before his own seat even comes into play, Assemblyman Tony Mendoza is looking into a run for state Senate.

A group called Democrats for Mendoza opened a campaign account this week with the California Secretary of State's office for Mendoza to run in 2012 for the 27th State Senate District.
