McClintock campaign questions Brown slogan

The congressional campaign for state Sen. Tom McClintock charged Democratic opponent Charlie Brown by going back on his "patriotism before partisanship" campaign pledge by making public appearances last week with retired Gen. Wesley Clark.

In a statement, McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks) campaign consultant John Feliz said Clark is working on behalf of Democratic candidates, and said in a media interview that he hoped the 4th Congressional District would "go blue."

Clark to campaign with Charlie Brown

Retired Gen. Wesley Clark will campaign with congressional candidate Charlie Brown Thursday in Roseville and assist in Brown's program to benefit veterans who need help.

Clark, who ran for president in 2004, will make a $30,000 presentation of new donations to Brown's "Promises Kept Veterans Charity Challenge" campaign, which donates 5 percent of his campaign donations to nonprofit community-based groups that help veterans and their families.
