Although many questions remain unanswered, Dellums reveals Edgerly's fate

One day later than billed Mayor Ron Dellums on Tuesday finally revealed the fate of embattled Oakland City Administrator Deborah Edgerly .

She's gone. But Edgerly is not being fired or quitting. She'll be retiring.

During a strange and chaotic "press conference" at City Hall where neither Dellums nor Edgerly would answer questions from reporters, Dellum announced that Edgerly would retire from her $255,000 a year job as the city's highest non-elected official on July 31.
