With just months to go in his presidency, George W. Bush isn't getting any increase in good vibes from the beleaguered Golden State.

According to a new Field Poll, Bush's approval rating in California is 25 percent, virtually unchanged from poll readings going back all the way to March 2007.

President Bush will take an aerial tour of fire-plagued areas in Northern California Thursday afternoon with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, weeks before wildfire season really begins.

According to the governor's press conference, Schwarzenegger will impress upon Bush the need for swift federal help during wildfire season, given dry conditions across the state.

In the wake of the continuing firestorms ravaging the state, California's big political guns, U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer (both D-CA), joined with Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger late Friday to urge President Bush to declare a state of emergency as well as issue a Federal Disaster Assistance Declaration for the state.
