Here's some not breaking news: U.S. Sen. John McCain's (D-Ariz.) vice presidential running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has a small base of financial support outside of her home state.
But just how small is it?
During her 2006 gubernatorial campaign, only two of her contributions came from the Golden State for a total of $1,400.

Oh Really?
The McCain campaign raised 7 million dollars the day of the Palin pick. Just because Palin has almost no previous fund-raising base in California doesn't mean that she won't help McCain raise millions of dollars from our great state this fall. This state has many conservatives and social traditionalists (think the Central Valley, rural North, San Diego, and Orange County), and they're all excited about Palin; and I suspect they'll turn that exuberance into campaign cash, just like the rest of Republican supporters did last Friday.
Nice factoid, but it's fairly irrelevant.
